MEANING
The concept of One Person Company was introduced under Companies Act, 2013 to support small entrepreneurs to start a venture by allowing them to create a single person entity thereby doing away with unnecessary inclusion of one more person in the business venture. One Person Company means a Company which has only one person as a Director and member. However, its member must appoint a Nominee who will become a member in the event of death or incapacity of a member. It helps the proprietor to start a business in legal way as there is no need for obligatory requirement of minimum 2 Directors as in the case of Private Limited Company.
